Nittany Beagle Rescue - Spike

UPDATED 9/12/2026! Hi! My name is Spike & I'm a super sweet male tricolor beagle! I'm quite the character! I'm outgoing & friendly! I also love to cuddle & snuggle! I'm middle-aged, which is a great age for a beagle! I came to Nittany Beagle Rescue from a shelter. I was in pretty bad shape when I went into the shelter - my snout was full of porcupine quills. That's how I got my name! LOL But I'm doing much better now. I am neutered & am ready to go to my forever home! Until recently, I've probably always lived outdoors in a pen. But I'm in a foster home now. And I LOVE being with people, & snuggling on the couch! I'm just so happy! I've had a couple of zoomies today (9/12/26)! But I'm also very calm! I share my food and toys with my foster home's dog. I walk well on a leash, too! I've discovered that I don't like dry kibble by itself anymore; I really want some wet food mixed in! :) I do well in a crate. Sometimes I'll cry a little in the crate, but then settle down quickly. Right now, I don't like being left alone - but everything is so new to me. My people will just need to work with me on that. I'll need more work on housetraining.
