Girlie · Adopted 2020
![]() Bio at the Time of AdoptionGood things come in small packages: Girlie is no exception! Girlie is a petite & sweet 4-year old speckled beagle. She is very timid & needs reassurances that people will love her. With patience & consistency Girlie will learn about all the pleasures of being a beloved house dog. She has made tremendous progress since being in her foster home. She loves belly rubs! Girlie likes the security of her crate but enjoys the sofa too! She is very calm when she is with her people. Girlie gets along well with other dogs & cats. However, she is dominant & does not like to share her person with other dogs when sitting next to her person on the couch. Girlie originally came from a shelter in the South. We don’t know what type of life she had before being rescued, but it probably wasn’t good. We would love to place Girlie in a home that is experienced with shy or abused dogs, but it’s not required. Girlie will eventually adjust if her people are patient & provide her with the security she needs. She needs a home with a fenced yard. She likes to dig so the fence needs to be set up to stop her from digging underneath it. A home with children 8 & older who are experienced with dogs should be OK. But loud sounds startle Girlie, so a calmer home would be best. Girlie is already housetrained, crate trained & spayed. She is looking for a caring & compassionate home that will help build her confidence & understand she is a bit shy when meeting new people. Could she be the Girlie for you? |
