Sissy

Happy Tails

We bought a beagle puppy in early 2004—Chip, a male who turned out to be a big beagle or harrier: 21 inches, 50 pounds. We decided to get him a buddy and started looking at the Nittany Beagle Rescue web page in fall 2004. They all looked beautiful (the ones left still do) and we wish we could take them all.

Something about Sissy’s proud little stance intrigued us and we decided we had to have her. Went to see her, and took her right away.

Chip and Sissy There was literally no adjustment period at home. Chip and Sissy fell in love right away and Sissy fell into the general groove of our home life. She’s a little beagle, about 14 inches, 26 pounds, very sturdy. She now gets at least two walks per day, usually 45 minutes or more, and regular hikes in the woods and trips to the park. She likes to sniff and track. She loves to wrestle with Chip and they cuddle up and sleep often.

Sissy is incredibly affectionate and loves to be held and loved—which she is a lot. She loves to ride in the car with Chip and me. When we give our rawhide chew bones, she usually manages to hide hers and after a while con Chip out of his. He doesn’t mind. She’s our little cutie.
