Ann & Dan

Bio at Adoption: Hi! We're Ann & Dan & we're 3 years old. We are very sweet & loving dogs! We love to be on our person's lap! We're looking for a new home because our person is going through a lot of life changes & can't keep us. We're extremely bonded & will be placed together. Dan is the bigger beagle in the photo. He is easygoing & affectionate! He's a happy fellow & also quite active. Ann is more confident & independent. She is also quite mannerly & obedient (for a beagle!) Dan will bark while Ann is more quiet. They are both sensitive souls. They will also dig, so they need a home with a fenced yard that they cannot dig out of. Dan likes to play fetch. He enjoys being outside during the day, while Ann prefers to be inside with her person. Ann & Dan have been around other dogs, a cat, & children aged 9 and older. They are crated when they are in the house for the most part. They will whimper when they need to go outside. Their new family may need to work on housetraining with them. But Nittany Beagle Rescue thinks they will become used to being free in the house quickly. We're sure they would love a home where they can sit on the couch beside their person, or maybe even sleep in bed with them at night! Ann & Dan are already spayed & neutered & up-to-date on shots. Bio at Adoption: Hi! I'm Bella! I'm a very sweet female beagle! I'm about 10 years old, but I'm active! I'm good with everyone - other dogs, cats & children! I'm an affectionate & loving girl. I'm also a happy dog. I'm housetrained & I'm used to going outside 3 or 4 times a day. I will bark when I need to go outside. Of course, when I go to my new home, I might be confused & it might take awhile for me to get into the swing of things. I'm used to being in a kennel run when I'm outside. But I look forward to walking on a leash with my person, bonding with them & smelling new smells! I ride well in a car. I'm already spayed & will be up-to-date on vaccines before being adopted. Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Blu & I'm a male blue tick/jack russell terrier mix. I'm a young guy - I'm only 10 months old! I need a new home because of sickness in my family. I'm super sweet, & I'm very loving! I've got tons of energy! I love to jump straight up in the air! (Nittany Beagle Rescue thinks I jump about 4.5 feet straight up without even trying!). I've been raised with a 5-year old child & I was great with him! I've also been raised with another dog. For the most part, I'm housetrained. I will run to the door or lick your face when I need to go outside. Actually, I love to sit on my people's lap & be held! I also like to give kisses! I will mark in the house, and so I need some training with that. I love fetch, ball & tug-of-war. I like to sleep in bed at night with my person. I ride really well in the car also. Due to my age, I like to get into things & tear things up - after all, I'm still a puppy! I've never been crated. I'm up-to-date on vaccines, and will be neutered before I'm adopted. Bo

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Bo & I'm a super sweet 6-7 year old male beagle! I love to give kisses! I'm also very energetic. I lift my upper lips to "smile"! I've lived in an outdoor kennel all my life with Shakey (who is also available for adoption). But it's fine for us to be placed in different forever homes. I get along well with other dogs. I've never been around a cat, & I might chase one. I've never been around young children. Because of this, Nittany Beagle Rescue will place me in a home with older children or no children. I was trained to hunt rabbits, but I'm scared of loud sounds. So I'll probably be frightened during thunderstorms & fireworks. I'll take off hunting for bunnies if I get loose. It's extremely important that I either be in a securely fenced yard or on-leash when outside. Also, I need a home where the door to the outside is shut quickly so I can't run out. I'll need work on housetraining & house manners, but the folks at Nittany Beagle Rescue say it's easier to train an adult dog than a puppy. I can be nervous in new situations at first. I weigh about 24 lbs. I'm living in a boarding kennel right now & I'm anxious to find my forever home! Lobo is up-to-date on vaccines & will be neutered & have a dental before he is adopted. I'm a little guy. I weighed about 25 lbs. when I got my vaccines. Nittany Beagle Rescue thinks I'm 6-8 years old. I belonged to a homeless man who wasn't able to care for me. Another rescue group worked with Nittany Beagle Rescue so that I could find a new forever home! I was living in a barn at the time I was turned over to the other rescue group. Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Buck & I'm a very sweet 12-year old male beagle! I'm an affectionate & loving fellow! I'm also laid back & easygoing. I'm quite sociable! I love being next to a person & being petted! I have an independent streak to me - as most beagles do! I get along well with other dogs, & I seem to be submissive to other dogs. I've been an outdoor dog all my life, & I'm so happy to be in a foster home now! My foster family is working on housetraining & teaching me house manners. I'm doing great! I'm a very bright fellow & I'm adjusting to living in a home quickly! In fact, I love it! I really like cuddly toys & to bury my peanut butter-filled kongs in the sofa! I love sleeping on my dog bed! Buddy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Buddy! I'm about 8 years old, but that's a guess. I lived with Spot (also available for adoption) & belonged to a person who had to go into a nursing home. We were going to be euthanized, but this kind woman offered to take Spot & me. She thinks we probably lived outdoors. She was able to teach us house manners & we made great progress on housetraining (we poop outside now). But we still need work. Its very hard to housetrain 2 dogs at once, and so Nittany Beagle Rescue will place Buddy & Spot in separate homes. (You can read about Spot's own set of issues & his need for a special home). But I love to play & be loved! I have a corky personality! I'm also very sweet & gentle! I still need some work on house manners, but I learn quickly, especially if someone can focus on me 1-on-1! I've lived in a home with Spot & another dog & several cats, & I did fine with them. I'm crate trained. I will be neutered before I'm adopted. Please think about making me part of your family! Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Chance & I'm a very lovable 4-5 year old male beagle! I'm a sweetheart! I love to lay on the couch with my person & get belly rubs! I'm an active fellow too! I love to run around outside! A home with a securely fenced in yard would be ideal for me. But I will be OK if my forever home doesn't have a fenced in yard, as long as they take me for long walks & I'm able to safely run on a long lead or a retractable leash. I've had limited contact with children, but I seem to be good with them. Because I haven't been around children much, I will be placed in a home with no children or older children (8 years or older). I seem to be good with other dogs. I haven't been around cats, but I'm probably fine with them. I seem to be housetrained for the most part - I just need a little more reinforcement. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 09/21/2021 Hi! My name is Chelsea! I'm a very sweet senior beagle girl looking for a new forever home because my person passed away. I'm very loving! I'm fairly obedient (for a beagle!). I'm in a foster home with dogs, & I'm doing great! I can be timid, but once I get used to my new situation, I'm out-going! I've been around children & I'm good with them. But I will not be placed in a home with young children due to my age. I ride well in a car. I'm crate trained and housetrained. I typically go outside every 3 hours during the day. I'll sit by the door or bark to let you know I have to go outside. I'm about 10-11 years old. Even though I'm on the older side, I will take off if I'm are not in a securely fenced yard. So I've got lots of spirit in me! I'm up-to-date on vaccines and will be spayed before I'm adopted. Bio at Adoption: UPDATED 12/9/21! Hi! My name is Chuckie. You can also call me Charlie! I'm 4 years old. I'm anxious to find my forever home! I love people & I love to cuddle! I would love to hang out with my family on the couch! I love soft toys & soft doggie beds! I'm housetrained. I sit & look at the door when I need to go outside. I'm super smart & you could probably teach me to ring a bell when I need to go out. I'm crate trained & will sleep in my crate when my people are in bed. But if you are up & about, then I want to be with you. I weigh about 25 lbs. I tend to jump on people, & so I would probably knock a young child or someone unstable on their feet down. I love to sniff & will pull on a leash. I used to live with other dogs, but they would attack me, so now I'm afraid of other dogs, so it's best I be placed as an only dog. I've been around cats, & if a cat with claws stands their ground & doesn't run, I will leave them alone. I'll be neutered before being adopted. If you don't pay attention to me, I might mark in the house. But if you pay attention to my signs, I probably won't have an accident. I love to go for walks (on a leash, of course!). I also love being in a securely fenced in yard - but I don't like to get my feet wet, so if my new person has a fenced yard, they will need to make sure I get off the porch & go potty on wet days. Daisy

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Daisy, & I'm an 8-9 year old female beagle. I need a new home because my person passed away. I'm housetrained, good with other dogs & children. However, I love to be the center of attention & so it's totally fine with me if I'm the only dog in the family! Because of my age, I will only be placed in a home with older children (8-10 or older) or no children. But it's fine for young children to come & visit! I'm super sweet! In my old home, I would love to lay on my person's chest. I'm not as affectionate in my foster home. But probably once I'm adjusted to my forever family & know they are mine, I'll become more affectionate. I do like my belly rubbed, though! I'm also an easygoing girl & I seem to be fairly independent. I don't really care about playing. But I LOVE to go for walks! So the best home for me would be one where I go a walk with my person (leashed of course!) multiple times a day. I prefer to be petted & rubbed. I ride well in a car. No need to put me in a crate. Dixie

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Dixie & I'm a 4.5 year-old female beagle. I'm a very sweet girl! I'm very loving & affectionate! I love to play ball! I also want to sleep in bed with my person at night. I'm an escape artist though! I can escape from a fenced yard & a tie out, & I will run away. I can squeeze my way out through small gaps; I will also dig my way out. I'm about 25 lbs, and quite low to the ground. I am afraid of new people & new situations - although I will get used to the new situation after a while. I'm less afraid of women than men. So it takes longer for me to get used to a man & not be afraid of him. I would do best in a calmer home where there isn't much going on. I've lived with children as young as 4 years, as well as other dogs & cats. However, the other animals should be calm (just like the people in the house). I will growl when other dogs approach my food, & so if I live with other dogs it's best to feed us separately. I'm housetrained & crate trained. When my former owner was at work, I roamed the house for 8 hours while she was at work, but when she got home, she took me out a lot. I do not give signs for when I need to go out. Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Henry! (I used to be called Junior). I'm about 4 years old. I was a lab dog the 1st few years of my life. They didn't do horrible things to me, but still I had to live in a lab rather than be part of a family. I've been out of the lab for the past 1.5 years & I love being with adults, children, other dogs & cats! I'm sociable & out-going, & the friendliest fellow! I'm just so happy to be with people! I'm a quiet guy, although I will howl & cry when left in the crate. I need work on housetraining. I'm already neutered and up-to-date on vaccines.

 

Jack

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Jack! I need a home because my person passed away. I'm playful & I love to have my belly rubbed! I also love to cuddle with my people, & with the other dogs in the house! But I'm also ok hanging out by myself. I'm full of energy! I'm a very smart fellow & I learn quickly! I know how to sit & shake! I've been in a foster home for a month or so, & I'm doing great! Before that, I had lived all my life with other beagles outside as a hunting dog. But I LOVE being part of a family! I'm in a foster home with a 2.5 year old child, & I do great with him! I also get along great with the other dogs & cat in my foster home. I might chase a cat when I first meet them, but then I stop after a day or so. I would love a home with a securely fenced yard since I love to run & play outside. I especially loved the snow this winter! I'm good on a leash - but I am a beagle so I'll pull on the leash & I'm quite strong. I'm housetrained & crate trained. Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Jackie & I'm a super sweet lemon & white female beagle. I lived in a pen all my life until Nittany Beagle Rescue took me in. I'm in a foster home now & I'm doing great! I love living in a home! I get along great with the other dogs in the house. I've learned how to use the doggie door & I go outside to potty when I need to. I'm a tiny thing, about 20 lbs. I'm very gentle. I was trained to hunt, so I can never be off-leash or outside of a securely fenced yard. I'm an older gal & so I need a home with no children or older children who know how to properly treat a dog. I got to visit a home with a fenced in yard & I had such a great time running around the yard & hunting! I have a great beagle bay! It's a little on the loud side, though. Bio at Adoption: Hi I'm Jen! I'm an outgoing & friendly 7 or 8 year old female tricolor beagle! I'm an affectionate & easygoing girl. I'm also quite mannerly & obedient (for a beagle!). I'm used to having a back yard to roam round, & I love to dig for moles! It's OK if someone doesn't have a fenced in yard. I walk great on a leash! I'm pretty chunky & multiple walks every day would be good for me. I weighted 59 lb. last time I was at the vet, & so I do need to go on a diet also. I also take thyroid medicine 2x/day. I LOVE biscuits! If you call "biscuit!", I'll come running! I will also sit for a treat. I've met children on my walks & I'm great with them! I'm housetrained & crate trained. I will bark or look at you when I need to go outside. Of course, when I go to my new home, I might be confused & it might take awhile for me to get into the swing of things. I've lived with one other dog & I was fine with her. I'm very dramatic when getting my toenails clipped, so it's best that the vet or groomer do that. I'm spayed & up-to-date on vaccines. Jill

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Jill & I'm an 8-year old female beagle. I need a home because my person passed away. I've lived all my life with 2 other female beagles outside as a hunting dog. I'm in a foster home now & I'm LOVING it! I'm very mellow & I'm doing well with the other dogs in my foster home. I LOVE to be cuddled & to sit on a person's lap all the time! If you are walking around the house, I will follow you with my tail wagging! My foster home calls me a Velcro dog! I'm making great progress on housetraining & house manners. I haven't had an accident in the house yet! I'm very smart! I'm learning fast about living in a home. Because I haven't been around young children, I will be placed in a home with older children (8-12 years) or no children. I don't know how to walk on a leash, & so that is something I need to learn. Because I never went anywhere, I'm pretty timid in new situations. I'm having back issues & this is showing up through some lameness in my back legs. I'm on meds now & I'm doing much better. But it's possible it's a chronic issue, & so I will have a back x-ray when I'm spayed just to see. Once I'm better, I'll need a home where I will have a securely fenced yard. I have been known to dig under a fence, so it needs to be secure. I will run off looking for bunnies to chase if I get loose. I'm anxious to become part of a family as a member of the household. Lucy Lu

Bio at Adoption: ON HOLD until early Jan. (traveling with her foster mom). I’m about 4 years old. I’m very affectionate, smart, & eager to please my people! I’m great on a leash & I LOVE walks! I’d also make a great running partner. I’m relatively quiet for a beagle. I’m young, so I have a lot of energy, but I settle down if you give me enough exercise. Give me a good walk in the morning (1.5 mi) before you go to work & I’ll be fine in the crate for 8-9 hours. Then another 1.5 mi in the evening - plus play time! I travel well. I’m very good with other dogs – I love to play with them. I’m not good with cats, though. I’ve been training at Muddy River K-9 Academy in New Bloomfield, PA. I’m doing great! I thrive on structure. I do better in a crate when no one is home rather than roaming free. (It makes me nervous not to have structure.) If my person works at home, I do better being told to go to my place bed, or be in a crate. I do not like loud sounds. So I need a relatively quiet home. I’m housetrained, spayed & up-to-date on vaccines. I just need my forever home! Are you it? Bio at Adoption: Hi! We're Max & Molly! We're 7-year old beagle siblings. We need a new home because our person passed away. We've always lived together, & so we're hoping we can find a new forever home together! But if we can't be placed together, we'll be ok. We're very friendly dogs! And we like to play tug-of-war! We're also calm dogs - although we can be rambunctious in a car. We're good around other dogs. We've been around children, but we can knock small children down. We've never been around cats, but we're probably fine with them. We're housetrained & crate trained. We're used to sleeping in separate crates at night. We go to the door when we need to go outside. Odie

Bio at Adoption: UPDATED BIO! Hi! My name is Odie & I'm a very sweet 2-year old male beagle/chihuahua mix. I'm a little guy, but I'm solid. I weigh about 25 lbs. I have blue eyes! I want to be with my person all the time! I love to cuddle with them & I love to give kisses! I sleep in bed with my people at night, & that is very important to me. Just call me "Velcro dog!" I like to sit beside my person & have my little paw on them. I can be very timid in new situations, but my foster mom has been working with me on that. She's a school teacher & has taken me to school! I really loved the attention from the children. The children were very respectful of me & that is important. I need a calm home where there isn't a lot of goings on. I'm good with other dogs & cats, but I would not like to be with a young playful dog. I like it when the animals I'm around are calm & relaxed. I've made great progress on housetraining. I haven't had an accident since the first few days in my foster home. But it takes a long time for me to potty when I'm outside. Once I have my potty spot, it doesn't take as long. So my person has to be patient with me until I find my potty spot. I'd love to have a fenced in yard! I'm crate trained. I'll fuss in my crate when you 1st put me in, but then I calm down. I've always been crated when no one is home. Oscar

Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Oscar & I'm a 5-month old beagle! I'm super sweet! And I like to pose for photos! I'm also extremely energetic! I would probably do best in a home with older children (8 or older). A securely fenced yard would be best so that I can run & play & get my energy out. I can be intimidated by some dogs & will growl in their face, but others I'm totally fine with. I've lived with 2 cats in the past, & I want to play with them. If they won't play with me then I'll bark at them. Since I'm a young beagle, I would probably also chase a cat if they ran - that's normal behavior for most young dogs. I seem to be fine when left alone in the house. I'm still working on housetraining, but I'm very smart. And so if you are consistent, I will get it. I have not been crate trained yet, but I would probably learn quickly. It would be best to crate train me since in a few months, I'll probably start chewing on things, as most young dogs do, & putting me in a crate when no one is home would be best. It would be good if my family worked with a trainer with me. I was developing some bad habits (like barking at family members, getting a little nippy, & trying to get the family dinner when my people were eating). I will be neutered before I'm adopted. Patches

Bio at Adoption: Hi! I'm Patches! I need a home because my person passed away. I'm a very affectionate guy & I love people! I'm in a foster home with a child, other dogs & a cat, & I'm doing great! Before that, I had lived with 3 other male beagles outside as a hunting dog. I LOVE living in a home with people! I love to lay on the couch, get belly rubs, be petted & go for walks! I crave attention & I'm a people-pleaser! I love being with others! But if I need a little space, I just move to a different area. Even though I'm in a foster home with a young child, I will be placed in a home with older children or no children. We will consider placing Patches in a home with a younger child if the child has considerable experience with older dogs. Patches needs a home with a securely fenced yard since he has been known to dig under a fence. Patches walks really well on a leash - except that he chews on the leash - so he needs work on that. He also chews on seatbelts. So it may be best to crate Patches when traveling in a car. Patches has adjusted well to living in a home. He marked his territory when he 1st entered his foster home (which is to be expected), but hasn't had an accident since! Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Pete! I need a home because my person passed away. I'm a very affectionate guy & I love people! I've lived all my life with 3 other male beagles (also available for adoption) outside as a hunting dog. But I'm ready to come in & be part of a family! Because I haven't been around young children, I will be placed in a home with older children (8-12 years) or no children. I need a home where I will have a securely fenced yard. I have been known to dig under a fence, so it needs to be secure. I will run off looking for bunnies to chase if I get loose. I don't know how to walk on a leash, & so that is something I need to learn. Because I never went anywhere, I'm pretty timid in new situations. I will be neutered before being adopted. Because I've lived all my life outside, I will need work on housetraining & house manners. But I lived in a hutch in my old home, & so I have the idea about going outside vs. inside - so that is a very big start! Nittany Beagle Rescue can provide advice on housetraining & house manners - we actually find it easier to housetrain older dogs than puppies (older dogs focus better!). Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Phoebe! I'm a very sweet senior beagle girl looking for a new forever home because my person passed away. I'm very loving! I'm fairly obedient (for a beagle!). I'm in a foster home with another dog, & I'm doing fine! I am dominant with other dogs. I've been around children & I'm good with them. But I will not be placed in a home with young children due to my age. I ride well in a car. I'm crate trained and housetrained. I typically go outside every 3 hours during the day. I'll sit by the door or bark to let you know I have to go outside. I'm about 10-11 years old. Even though I'm on the older side, I will take off if I'm are not in a securely fenced yard. I've lived outside all my life chained to a dog house - until now! I living in a foster home & I'm loving it! I'm doing great with housetraining. I really enjoy going for walks on a leash! I will potty when you're walking me on a leash. I wear a harness on walks & I like it! I don't really like to be outside without my people. Also, if my people are around, then I really want to be with them. (I'll bark if I see you & you won't let me be with you). I was trained to hunt, so I can never be off-leash or outside of a securely fenced yard. I'm a tiny thing (I weigh less than 20 lbs!), so a fenced yard would have to be extremely secure. I'm living with 2 other dogs & a cat in my foster home & I get along with them great! I sleep in a crate at night & I'm really quiet. I love sleeping on a couch! So a home in which I'm allowed on the furniture is a must, especially given the first 12 years of my life. Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Sally & I'm an adorable female tricolor beagle. I was originally found as a stray & was taken to a shelter, but then the shelter transferred me to Nittany Beagle Rescue. The shelter thought I was about 9 years old, but the folks at Nittany Beagle Rescue think I might be younger, maybe 7 or 8 years. I'm not a big beagle, but I need to lose some weight. I'm the sweetest girl! I'm very affectionate! I'm also a very calm dog. I ride well in a car on highways & in town. But if you take me on curvey back roads, I might get sick. I'm in a foster home & I'm doing well with the other dogs & cat & small child in the home. Sally seems to be protective of her food with other dogs. But that is natural since she was on the streets for part of her life & had to fend for herself. Sally is doing well in terms of housetraining. I've lived in an outdoor kennel all my life with Lobo (who is also available for adoption). But it's fine for us to be placed in different forever homes. I get along well with other dogs. I've never been around a cat, & I might chase one. I've never been around young children. Because of this, Nittany Beagle Rescue will place me in a home with older children or no children. I'm overweight, so I need a family who can work on helping me trim down. I was trained to hunt rabbits, but I'm scared of loud sounds. So I'll probably be frightened during thunderstorms & fireworks. I'll take off hunting for bunnies if I get loose. It's extremely important that I either be in a securely fenced yard or on-leash when outside. Also, I need a home where the door to the outside is shut quickly so I can't run out. Bio at Adoption: Hi! My name is Shiloh, & I'm an 8-year old male beagle mix. I've lived all my life with Camo, who is also available for adoption. But we can be placed separately. For the 1st 6 years of my life, I spent most of my time shut in a room with Camo. Then 2 years ago, a couple moved into the house where I lived & worked really hard to socialize me. I've made major improvements! When I meet someone new, I will bark at them. But if you give me lots of soft treats, I'll warm up to you & be your best buddy! Besides Camo, I've also been around cats & I'm fine with them. (I'm dominant with other dogs). I'm basically housetrained, but if you don't let me out, then I'll go in the house. For the past 2 years, I'm used to going out several times a day, & I will whine when I need to go outside. I enjoy playing tug-of-war! I've been around children & I'm fine with them. But it's important to take your time introducing me to strangers & let me get to know them at my own pace. I'm neutered. There is a hard lump on my hip that needs to be removed ASAP. Bio at Adoption: Spot is in a permanent foster home! Hi! My name is Spot! I'm an older guy. I love to eat & sleep! I smile when I sleep! I love to sleep in in the mornings & take my time doing things. So if you like to take your time in the mornings, I might be the perfect buddy for you! I really enjoy being outside, & I love walks! I'm great on a leash. I also love to play with my blankie & to roll around on my back! I'm ADORABLE when I do that! I really need a home with no steps (or just 2 or 3 to get outside) since I'm partially blind & I become afraid. It's very hard having to go to a new home & being older & not being able to see much. I ride great in a car. Just secure me to the back seat, & I'll just enjoy the ride. I belonged to a person who had to go into a nursing home & I was going to be euthanized, but this kind woman offered to take me. She thinks I probably lived outdoors. She was able to teach me house manners & I made great progress on housetraining. But I still need some work. I'm in a temporary foster home with other dogs & a cat, & children as young as 8 years & I do fine with everyone. But my foster home has stairs, & I really need a home with no steps (or just a few). Bio at Adoption: Hi My name is Sir Trapper, but you can just call me Trapper! I'm a 5-year male tricolor beagle. I'm a very good-natured dog! I'm outgoing & friendly! I'm quite loving also. I'm active & I really like to get outside & go for long walks! My nose is to the ground as soon as I'm outside! So it's critical that I always be on-leash or in a securely fenced in yard when outside. I weigh about 30 -35 lbs & I pull. I've been around children of all ages & I'm very good with them. I've also been around other dogs & I'm good with them. I've never been around cats. I like to sleep in bed with my person & to hang out on the couch with them. I'm a lap dog, despite being a little bigger! I like to play with toys & I especially like fetch & tug-of-war! I'm housetrained & crate trained. I'm used to going outside 4 times/day. I'll go to the door when I need to go outside. I ride well in the car. If I'm on a couch or chair, I will growl a little if you tell me to get down. Bio at Adoption: Hi! I'm Zeus & I'm a 9 month-old male beagle. I'm very sweet! I've been around children & would be great in a family with children 8 years or older. I'm very loving & affectionate! I'm also playful & full of energy. Fetch & tug-of-war are my favorite games! I'm young & will be extremely energetic for the next couple of years. I need a home where I can play & run! A home with a securely fenced yard is best. I dig, so it's important I can't dig under the fence. I like to play with dogs & I'll bark at them until they agree to play with me! I'm also really good with cats! I might chase them if they run. But if they tell me to back off, then I will! I ride great in a car - just tether me safely to the back seat & I'll take a nap. I also will ride in a crate. I'll bark for awhile when everyone leaves the house. I'm making progress on housetraining. I'm crate trained, but have had accidents in the crate. I'm at that age where I will chew on everything (including electrical cords & furniture) & so I need to be crated or safely secured in a room like a kitchen when no one is home. I'm still learning manners, & I will jump on people. I also still puppy bite. I've slept in a crate at night, but I think I might like sleeping in bed with my people or on a dog bed. I would love to have a doggie-sibling to play with! I've never been around cats, & I might chase them. I'm neutered & up-to-date on vaccines.
